See Who’s Already Wearing Anderson’s First Dior Designs IRL
“They’re not just previews anymore—they’re being lived.”
In the days following Jonathan Anderson’s Dior womenswear debut, several actors quietly became the first to bring those pieces into the world. Below are three moments where his early designs moved off the runway and into daylight, with notes on construction, styling, and why they matter.
Greta Lee — Venice & Los Angeles
On the red carpet in Venice, Lee (also recently announced as a Dior ambassador) wore a custom Dior piece that layered sheer green organza over black satin—melding volume and edge, structure and drift. The organza bubbles, the satin holds it all in tension.
Later in LA for the Tron: Ares premiere, she opted for Look 6: lace, internal wiring in the bust/hip to form a floating bustle. The engineering is subtle; the effect is unforgettable.
Overall the styling was pared back—silver heels, minimal jewelry, soft beauty. The designs were left to shine, unencumbered. We're excited to see how Lee brings more of Anderson's creations to life during her ambassadorship.
Mia Goth — Frankenstein Premiere
Mia Goth selected to wear Look 41: a sheer black minidress sprinkled with sequins, layered over black briefs, and anchored by a sculptural cut-out bow in back. The dress flirts with contrast—delicacy meets assertion. Stylistically, Goth’s black pumps and diamond accents keep drama in check. And candidly, we're glad she didn't include the runway headpiece with which the dress was originally worn.
Rebecca Marder — Venice L’étranger Premiere
At the L’étranger premiere during the Venice Film Festival, Marder wore a custom, elegantly draped Dior gown. The design is quiet in bravado, strong in poise. Anderson's hand is visible in the draping, the seamlines, and how it moves with her. Paired with Roberto Coin jewels, it’s restraint made sculptural.
Why These Moments Matter
-
Continuity in silhouette: Across these outings, details like sheer layering, architectural bows, and structural volumes emerge as Anderson’s signature gestures.
-
Fast translation: To see couture in street / red carpet light within days reflects Dior’s intention to fuse showmanship and real life.
-
Styling discipline: The minimal accessorizing shows trust in the clothes—no distractions, just focus.
